Lackawanna Heritage Valley serves the community as the developer and caretaker of the Lackawanna River Heritage Trail. As more miles are constructed and added to the trail system, the operational costs of maintaining the trail grows.
Lackawanna Heritage Valley has established a dedicated Trail Maintenance Fund to handle the expenses beyond the grass cutting and snow removal. Trees that fall onto the trail need removal, fences need to be mended, bridges require inspection, and playground equipment need checking in order to keep the individuals who use the trail safe.
