Heritage Explorer Bike Tour
The Heritage Explorer Bike Tour & Festival won the 2015 Hometown Hero SAGE Award presented by the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce.
Lackawanna Heritage Valley is grateful to all of the riders and sponsors who have made the Heritage Explorer Bike Tour & Festival a wonderful tradition for the past seven years. We couldn’t have done it without you!
This year, we ask for your patience and understanding as we must postpone the 2017 tour due to construction at key points along the course. Renovations to Blakely Borough Recreational Complex in Peckville (the tour’s starting point) will be underway this fall, and the D&H Rail-Trail in Susquehanna County will be temporarily closed due to a pipeline project.
We discussed alternate routes for the tour, but were unable to develop a safe course that would be appropriate for a family ride. We know the importance of cycling in the communities we serve, and we are working to establish a series of short group rides along the Lackawanna River Heritage Trail throughout the 2017 season. Dates and times for group rides will be announced soon.
We deeply appreciate the riders and sponsors who have made this event a wonderful tradition for the past seven years. Thank you for your support.
We can’t wait to see you at the Heritage Explorer Bike Tour & Festival in 2018!
